Safeguarding food safety with whole-genome sequencing (project extension)

1 July 2020

Through the development of a robust, science-based approach, this project provided the tools to understand and manage potential sources of microbial contamination in food production facilities.

Through this project, web-based database and mapping tools were designed with industry partners to enable tracking whole genome sequencing of Cronobacter sakazakii in the production facility. Further more, 240 isolates of C. sakazakii were stored long term and 200 isolates were sequenced.
