Condolences to her family and friends.
On behalf of all of us at the NZFSSRC, I want to express our sadness on the death of Fiona Thomson-Carter, and send condolences to her family and friends. Fiona was an influential mainstay in food safety and public health science – we have lost a valuable scientist and colleague.
A highlight of Fiona's career was receiving this MPI Supreme Excellence Award for the work of the Food Science & Risk Assessment team on MPI generic guidance with regard to COVID-19 safety measures for primary industry and food businesses.
